Welcome to the Grupo de Investigación de Alto Rendimiento en Innovación y Mejora Educativa - Innovation and Educational Improvement Research Group (IMEI) Website. We are an interdisciplinary research group committed to advancing educational excellence. At IMEI, we connect cutting‑edge research with real‑world educational practice to enhance the quality of teaching and learning across diverse contexts.

The IMEI Research Group was established by agreement of the Governing Council of the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos (URJC) on June 29, 2020 as a Consolidated Research Group (Grupo Consolidado). On December 22, 2025, it was officially recognized as a High-Performance Research Group (Grupo de Alto Rendimiento). IMEI operates in accordance with its founding agreement,  the Statues of the URJC, and the regulations governing their implementation.

Our Research Areas
IMEI research explores a broad spectrum of educational challenges and opportunities, driving innovations that improve the quality of education. Our current lines of researach include:

  • Educational interventions, new technologies and educational innovation
  • Educational inclusion, special education, and disabilities
  • Personal development and ethics of education
  • Language teaching and bilingual education
